Actually the final purpose of repairing the common rail injector is to assure its performance in all conditions.Armature lift decide the spray amount while thickness of shim matter the armature lift.Now we will teach you 7 steps of adjust its thickness during maintence.
Step 1:
Test the common rail injectors in the test bench and see the test result
Step 2:
Prepare different thickness of shim according to the reasonable range of armature lift (eg.45-55mikron)
Step 3:
Disassemble the solenoid valve,measure the armature lift to decide to increase or reduce the thickness
Step 4:
Check in test bench and see the result
Step 5:
If not right ,change your shim and test again in the bench
Step 6:
If still incorrect,keep changing the shim
Step 7:
Change the shims until the test result is right
The armature lift is different for different types of injectors.It will not spray even because the lift too small or too big.Because we only know the normal range of armature lift while its standard value is unknown,we have to change the shims thickness within the normal range in order to reach the standard one.It also result in the flexure repairing procedure.But it's a good start for the new maintence worker for common rail injectors.
